The Delegates Conference of the Asia Minigolf Sport Federation (AMF) took place in Yokohama, Japan on 07th of October, two days before the 2016 Asian Open Minigolf Championships.
Delegates from eight Asian member countries - China, Chinese Taipei, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam – discussed different important topics, including the minigolf current status and development on the continent.
Delegates of the Conference elected new members of the AMF Executive Committee (see picture and AMF-Homepage), including:
President - Mr. Bruno Gerstner – Vice-President of the China Minigolf Sport Federation and former AMF Secretary General;
Secretary General - Mrs. Van Tran – President of the Dalat Minigolf Sport Club, Dalat, Vietnam
Sport director - Mrs. Yuki Koshimura – Japanese Minigolf Sport Association
Media & Marketing manager - Mr. Xiaolong HE (William) – Vice-President of the Chinese Minigolf Sport Federation
Finance Manager - Mr. Andre Savare – the President of the Thailand Minigolf Federation
The next Asian Championships were awarded for 2018 to China and for 2020 to Thailand.
Minigolf participation at the Asian Beach Games 2020 in India and at the Master Games 2021 in Japan is planned.
AMF is looking forward to a fruitful cooperation with the World Minigolf Sport Federation for further minigolf sport development in Asia. Minutes of the meeting will follow and will be published on the AMF web page.
The Asia Minigolf Sport Federation (AMF) is the umbrella organization of 13 Minigolf sport associations Asia-wide.
The World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) is the umbrella organization of 62 Minigolf sports association's worldwide with continental associations in Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania.
There are more than 38,000 competitive minigolf players registered with the WMF via the 62 member nations, with 900-plus clubs between them. Over 1,000 courses are approved for official competitions and around 1,500 minigolf tournaments held each year.
